“Out of respect for Dr. Henry and her family’s privacy, the Organization has no further comment on the specifics of Dr. Henry’s medical condition,” Rocha added in his statement. “We feel that any health matters should only be shared and announced when necessary and with the consent of Mrs. Johnston’s family or Dr. Henry herself if she wishes to share this information.”

“I suggested multiple layers of precaution, even some that were not required by protocol, to ensure the highest quality analysis, monitoring, and medical care,” he added. “Other medical experts were also called in to provide multiple professional opinions to ensure that there would be no question as to the clarity of her diagnosis.”

The Miss Universe Organization has also “absorbed all hotel, hospital and travel expenses incurred by Henry and her family during this period,” the president said.

“These four days were difficult and filled with unexpected anxieties,” he wrote. “But thanks to the great medical care I have received, each issue was essentially resolved.”

She also will have to remain in the intensive care unit (ICU) for at least seven days, “as doctors continue their close monitoring and specialized care,” it was reported.
